MY FAVORITE SKINCARE PRODUCTS RN

I have been meaning to share this, but I didn't have a place to. But now that I have the blog, I figured this would be the perfect time to share what helped me win my battle with cystic acne.

I was a regular at the dermatologist and was being prescribed everything under the sun that wasn't Accutane. I was using 6 creams in the morning, and 6 more at night.. it was way too much, and I was breaking out more than ever before (see pic on the left).

Skin care before and after

After a couple of months of dealing with painful cystic acne, I decided to ditch the dermatologists rigid routine, and go back to the basics. (see right pic for where I am at now!) I cannot believe that all my skin needed was some gentle skincare & rest. I am going to give you the exact products I used (& currently use) that saved my skin.

♡ Step 1: Face wash. I keep it so simple with the Cetaphil Face Wash that I used 3x a day. Once in the AM, once in the middle of the day, and once at night.

♡ Step 2: Lotion. I use the Cera Ve Moisturizer because it's so gentle and has no fragrance. I use this morning, night, or whenever I need a bit of moisture throughout the day.

♡ Step 3: Face Oil. I mostly use this at night, but let me tell you when I say that this is literally one of the best (if not the best) face oil I have used in my LIFE. It's the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Oil with Hemp seed & oat. I got recommended this by a beauty specialist in Sephora one time and I will never go back. It gets rid of any redness you may have and gives you that glass skin look.

♡ Step 4: Jan Marini Age Intervention Duality. My brother and cousin had been using this months before me, and I always thought what clear, supple skin they have. Once I found out this was it, I immediately purchased and fell in love. It’s a potion of Retinol, Benzoyl Peroxide, green tea extract and peptides all in one. It is really strong, so I only use a pea size amount at night and maybe a little extra if I get a blemish, but it’s so dang good I can’t stop.

♡ Step 5: Eye cream. I LOVE the Drunk Elephant Ceramighty AF Eye Balm for AM & PM use. It's so light and I notice a difference almost immediately.

♡ Step 6: Sunscreen! I use the First Aid Beauty mineral sunscreen since I loved the face oil so much. It dries really well and doesn't leave a white residue anywhere. 10/10 recommend.

♡ Step 7: THE HOLY GRAIL. Okay. So pimples still come up for me every now and then, or I will feel one coming and immediately blast it with this Benzoyl Peroxide from Target. I am not even kidding you guys I have recommended this to at least 12 of my friends. The cyst or pimple will flatten and or disappear within an hour of use. It does dry out the area so be weary of how much and where you are putting it on, but this is better than any other meds/creams the dermatologist was prescribing and it's like $4. If I were to use one product it would be this. I am a huge stan and if you struggle with those stubborn blemishes, this is your new fave.

What works for me may not work for you, but I did want to share my current routine and that simple was better (IMO!). Let me know if you have any other skincare recs :)

xoxo
