FAVORITE BUSINESS BOOKS

Reading has becoming so important to me while running a business. When I was first starting out, I used books as leverage since I really didn’t have anything else, and hearing other peoples stories on how they started helped a bunch. So, without further ado, I am going to highlight a couple of books that made me feel inspired, motivated, and excited to get movin' & groovin'.

★ "You Are a Badass" by Jen Sincero: This book was such a game changer for me (even though it’s not technically a “business book”) it definitely helped me develop more confidence and dealing with insecurities. Going into business, you have to have some tricks up your sleeve to feel good, and this book helped me get that. It’s a fun read and easy to digest!

★ "Believe IT" by Jamie Kern Lima: This one was incredible because Jamie walks you through her beginning to current stage in her business, IT Cosmetics. It’s not only her step by step journey, but she throws in tons of positivity gems here and there that uplift & motivate you even when you aren’t feeling your best. Did you know she came up with her business plan for IT Cosmetics on a plane napkin during a flight?

"Creativity Inc." by Ed Catmull: Ed Catmull is one of the co-founders of Disney’s Pixar, which is a HUGE company and I can almost guarantee you’ve seen a Pixar movie (Toy Story 2 is my go-to). This book has a lot of great strategies to run a team and grow a business into something big. It’s a lot of his own experiences throughout the years, but he teaches how you can become a great and trustworthy leader in your own company/life.

★ "Invent It, Sell It, Bank It!"by Lori Grenier: Last but not least we have “Invent It, Sell It, Bank It!”, which I have read at least 5 times at this point. Lori is such a queen on the show Shark Tank, and is super right-to-the-point in this book. There are no "ifs" or "buts", which is beyond helpful when starting out when you are just looking for answers. She literally gives you step by step on how to go from idea, to selling on the market.

If you have any more book recommendations, let me know! I love to read and am always looking for books to grow my business knowledge.
