MY TIME IN NYC

If you are following us on Instagram, you may have seen that I was recently in NYC to host a pop up at The Well, which is a wellness spa, cafe, & retail shop loved by all. I had been there about a year ago for a business networking event and fell in love with it. I knew that eventually I would do something in collaboration with the Well even if I didn’t what exactly. I made sure to meet the team and introduce them to Emma Lou (just in case ;)). A couple weeks later I made sure to re-introduce myself to the team via email and express my interest in doing something with the Well.

A few months later I was scheduled to bring some inventory in and introduce Emma Lou to the people of NYC. It was a quaint little pop up, and I think in my head I had something bigger planned (there’s always next time), and now I know that I have a small community of people on the East Coast who now rep Emma Lou!

It’s important to remember that you always start somewhere. After the Well pop up, I was down on myself for not having a super packed pop up, or for selling out of all my inventory on the spot. And then I remembered… that the fact that I was even able to do this and share Emma Lou with people across the country is cool enough!

The phrase ‘stay in your own lane’ is helpful to remember since everyone is sooo different- along with our business journey’s. I too, get caught up in what other people are doing or even how far along someone else is in their business. At the end of the day, it’s you verses you!  I know it’s cheesy to say, but it’s so important to remember every time you are doing something for your business or even at your day job.

Keep going and don’t compare yourself to others, because every small win is a win too :)

Until next time

xoxo Emma
